Tulip-shaped (petal) lens hood designed to block stray light from entering the lens, reducing lens flare and improving image contrast.
The hood shades the lens from stray light and flares, those circles of light that appear in your pictures when a vital light source is outside the frame.
Reversible design allows the hood to be mounted backwards on the lens for compact, safe storage during transport.
Also offers physical protection for the front lens element from bumps, fingerprints, and minor impacts.
